Worship Leader

St. John’s Lutheran Church is seeking an individual to serve as Worship Leader as a

part of its staff. Special attention will be given to those with keyboarding skills, past

experience with music theory, and working with youth and adults to share their musical

talents.

WORSHIP LEADER

 

PURPOSE: To encourage Christian growth through worship experiences directed toward God

 

POSITION: Part-time, 25 hours per week

 

PRIMARY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES OF STAFF:

  • Supervise the music ministry of St. John’s
  • Coordinate all parts of the worship service with Pastor, including consultation of the theme of each worship service, special programs, and the selection of hymns, praise songs, and choral music
  • Research appropriate music for worship services
  • Organize and supervise recruitment of members into the music ministry
  • Explore mid-week worship services

 

SECONDARY DUTIES PROVIDING GUIDANCE TO LAY MEMBERS AND

SUPPORT FOR PASTOR

  • Coordinate musical groups for participation in services
  • Lead congregational singing using identified gifts and talents

 

EXPECTATIONS FOR THE POSITION

  • Work with appropriate committees, officers and leaders to carry out the worship ministry of the congregation
  • Attend staff meetings and retreats
  • Attend board meetings
  • Be in agreement with the Holy Scriptures and the confessions of the Lutheran Church-Missouri Synod

Lead Preschool Teacher in The Learning Center

St. John’s Learning Center is hiring a full time lead preschool teacher. We’re looking for a teacher that is self-motivated, dependable, creative, has a team player mentality, and has a passion for teaching and helping children reach their full potential. The ideal candidate has at least 1 year of experience as a teacher working in an education or childcare setting. A lead teacher should have great knowledge of child development as well as other topics in the education field.

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

Plan and execute developmentally appropriate lessons plans

Provide appropriate care and supervision of children at all times

Communicate with parents daily

Maintain a clean and healthy environment for the children

Work cooperatively with other teachers


Requirements:

Be of responsible character and suitable to meet the needs of children

Have one of the following: a valid CDA, an Associate’s degree in early childhood education or child development, or a Bachelor’s degree in early childhood education, child development or a child-related field

Have at least 1 year experience working in an education or childcare setting
