You can be part of Michigan District Disaster Response by training through Lutheran Early Response Teams (LERT). Post-Harvey recovery efforts are underway in Texas, and recently begun with Hurricane Irma in Florida and the Caribbean. Do you or members of your congregation feel moved to volunteer your time and efforts? If so, are you or your members prepared?

The LERT training is part of a Synod-wide disaster response program, facilitated by a network of District Disaster Response Coordinators and Teams. Adults of all ages and youth are encouraged to attend:

Serving

1 Corinthians 13: 4-5. "Love is patient, love is kind. Love does not envy, is not boastful, is not conceited, does not act improperly, is not selfish, is not provoked, and does not keep a record of wrongs."

Church membership is founded on love. Authentic, biblical, unconditional love (from I Am a Church Member, by Thom Rainer). In Pointing to Jesus, we offer many opportunities to serve and love others.

Groups Who Serve

We have a wide variety of groups at St. John's - all who serve the congregation, local community, and/or world. We encourage you to use the talents God has given you to serve others.
