Praise Bands
We currently have two Praise Band Teams - one for the 8:30 service and one for the 11:00 service. Each team performs every other week.
We are always looking for experienced players to help lead the congregation in worship. The band is made up of people wanting to play with excellence to serve God.
Youth Praise Band
Youth have a unique opportunity to actually lead worship! These talented musicians are looking to improve on their God-given talents and share their love of Christ with others.
Adult Choir
Open to anyone who likes to sing and can carry a tune. You do not have to read music to join.
Brass Choir
ANY and all brass players are invited to join this group! We perform for special services – Reformation, Christmas Eve, and Easter – as well as occasionally playing for other services.
Handbell Choir
Open to anyone! If you have never played hand bells before, now is the time to learn. The choir is led by Diane King, director for several years. She will teach ringing techniques to those who are new to ringing bells. The choir practices on Tuesday nights. Click here and scroll down to the calendar for the practice schedule.
Special Music
If you have a musical talent – playing an instrument or vocal performance – and are willing to share those gifts with the St. John’s family, there is a place for you. There is no specific schedule for these performances. If you would like to be part of a service we can find a date for your participation.
Tech Team
Open to all members . The team, led by Mike Ahleman, prepares slides for and runs the audio/visual needs for all worship services and some special events. If you can change the volume on your TV and turn on your computer, you can do this! We are always looking for people with a passion for the Technical elements of worship.
Beautiful music is the art of the prophets that can calm the agitations of the soul; it is one of the most delightful presents God has given us.
